Love and Pumpkins

The only way to precede a wedding in a barn is with engagement photos at a pumpkin farm!  I had a great time with Katie and Mike at Bengstons Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen.

I had a great time with this couple. All week long I was thinking of new and unique poses for this couple. Congratulations to the beautiful couple Gregg and Mac; I wish them many years of happiness!

Gregg and Mac have the best house- it was a photographer’s dream.

I found this great natural light- it reminds me of a ring light.

The Narnia Estate- One of my favorites! http://www.thenarniaestate.com/

Viviana from Petal Play Design did a fantastic job- as usual! http://www.petalplaydesign.com/

Great speeches from both Gregg and Mac.

Every wedding should have a flash mob dance. Loved it!

This simple shot ended up being on of my favorites of the day.

We had some fun with time exposures and a ring flash at the end of the night. For some reason I get the Lady Gaga song stuck in my head every time I look at this photo. ;)

Brrrrrookfield Zoo

Baby it’s cold outside… but that didn’t stop these two love bugs from their engagement pictures.  With a lady bug themed engagement session what better place to take winter pictures than Brookfield Zoo?  We walked through ghost town between different animal houses with out a person in sight; I’m sure even the monkeys would have looked at us funny except they weren’t outside either- after all, we’re the only crazies outside at the zoo with a windchill of eight degrees.  We ended up taking our best shots at Hamill Family Play Zoo and the Living Coast.  I love engagement sessions almost more than I love weddings because it allows me to be free and creative without time constraint.  Despite the cold I had a great time with this couple, and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did taking them!

Steffany, Bryon, and buggie… it’s like the sign was made for them.

We found this great patch of light and rocky background in the Hamill Family Play Zoo.

The Living Coast!  My personal favorite exhibit at the Brookfield Zoo and great dramatic colors for pictures.

Has anyone else ever seen the really friendly penguin in the fish tank at the Living Coast?  We didn’t see him this time, but my son can always seem to find him.

Those birds were fast- I was lucky to catch this one in the background.  Luckily I didn’t get any bird presents on my camera- that was my fear.

Steffany had scoped out this lady bug in the play zoo a while back- it was perfect!
